Invisible Hit to death

In ABYSS Map, I got hit from nowhere and instant death. I had full health and full ES. No monster in sight.

I had a similar scenario happen to me. several times.
Wondering if you remember if the "You died, Resurrect at checkpoint" popped up for you? Sometimes when this happened i would be able to "control" my character, but for all intents and purposes the game considered me dead. laying on the ground and unable to do anything except relog. |

" Probably overly late since it's been a month already, but it looks like the monster you'd killed and picked up a Grim Remnant from was a Porcupine type of monster. In PoE1, these monster types immediately release quills in a circle around them upon death. In PoE2, like other on-death effects, the quill explosion is delayed. The corpse should've had a visual tell to the quill explosion being about to occur, but in the video it's hard to tell because of other things over the corpse--an item label, the vfx of the Grim Remnant, and lastly the player character. |
