Portal back into Arbiter fight and unable to move.

I am doing Arbiter, which already takes forever or costs a ton to get to fight. I put my portal right where the elevator takes you down, because if I have to log out to avoid dying, I wanted a portal to come back into the fight. I had to log, and as I come back into the portal, the bridge that comes up is down and I am completely unable to even move. Arbiter still hit me and one shot me though after standing there for a bit. Not sure if this is intended, but with no deaths allowed, I need to put my portal somewhere safe to re-enter fight, but in doing so, was unable to move and bricked my fight that took forever to farm.
