Character Deleted on Steam Account - but not linked to PoE/GGG. - Please Help :(

Hello!
I have a character that was deleted by my son over the holiday break. Unfortunately, it is on my Steam account and I am unable to link it to my GGG account. I get an error message that says "You cannot add this login method to this account." I have contacted support several times and never get an answer. I don't even get a received email acknowledgement. I am worried that time is ticking and if my character isn't restored soon it will be lost forever. I spent over 100 hours on this character. Please help!
