Trial of Sekhemas bricked?

We are trying to get an idea if anyone has experienced this.

Me and a friend where doing Act 2 Balbala fight. .she had already done this fight a few times and died, but i had invited her to my party and we did it and beat her.. i got my quest coin, but she never got a coin. Now, let me clarify:

1. Only the Party leader gets the coin, other party members don't (unless i am mistaken)
2. The coin can't be traded
3. the coin can't be dropped (at least i haven't tried)

The situation is this now that she is in Act 2 Cruel, has received normal Barya coins, but never got or received the quest coin. the result is now that the Trial waypoint is locked and not showing on the desert map or waypoints.

we tried everything so far.. i.e see above points and are unable to get her through the trials and get her ascendancy.

What is the likely situation how this might have happened? did i really accidently pick up her coin and bricked the game for her? or is it possible she died after the boss died and lost the coin that way?

We are currently stuck with no answers, only lots of questions. any help appreciated, if there is a workaround.
