PoE2 Feedback as an Invoker(Monk) Player who reached level 92 and did all pinnacles and a PoE Player who has played every league since Essence League
I will leave my feedback here in case GGG is looking around on forums for more feedback, I probably wont come back to this post again after posting because im too busy to check up on it. so its more of an feedback dump and ditch. from start to finish: • The new Tutorials are great for players who have never played PoE, it is more accessible. Skill tree is still intimidating for some but that cant really be helped. • Campaign is amazing, the layouts are too long though, this is very noticeable in Act 3, this act was VERY long compared to the previous two. • The jump of difficulty between act 2 and act 3 is probably too rough even for me, i cant imagine how it is to new players inexperienced to PoE, Most act 3 monsters have chaos damage, which most player wont have ANY chaos resistances at all. while i dont mind the game being harder, this doesnt feel very fair considering we're still at a point where we dont have enough currency or gold to get chaos res anywhere (on top of the other elemental resistances and defenses) • The Part in Act 3 where you travel to the past, the process is very tedious when you have to identify gear, fill flasks, sell gear, etc. then going through the portal again, then going back in etc.. • I have rerolled once or twice already with about two million or so gold in my bank and using that gold to buy gear from vendors to level without worrying about wasting too much is very nice. it makes rerolling a new character less painful. not to mention you will have more crafting currency and probably leveling uniques (like goldrim and lifesprig) good job! • Minimap and Map(tab) need a buff to the "Fog of war" range, the layouts being so big and leading you to a dead end need to be more noticeable, increasing the "fog of war" range would lead to less of this situation, probably make it 20 or 25% bigger. • The layouts in acts and Maps are VERY big and often lead to Dead ends which makes the leveling and mapping very tedious. • This game compared to PoE1 has an INSANE amount of On-Death Effects and ground effects which some of them are NOT noticeable and some of them can one-shot you even with my Monk characterwho had 12k Overflowed ES and 79% Evasion Rating, dying to those effects feels extremely cheap and with a system of 1 death per map feels really bad. • Speaking of which, the 1 death per map has to go. it is Not a good system. While I understand why this is the way it is, there has to be a better way to handle this. • Currency systems are good and bad, Good because you can interact more with the currencies to craft your own stuff more than in PoE1. Bad because the drop rates for some of them are really bad, chaos orbs for example are almost completely useless, Greater Essences are almost non-existant, Good Omens are VERY rare and Greater/Perfect jeweller orbs are a myth, so much so that people are opting to vaaling the gems to get a "free" easy 5 Link. this needs to be looked upon. • The Game difficulty as it is now i would say its in a perfect spot, though some deaths I've had are VERY cheap like the on-death effects, which has been the ONLY WAY to kill me having 12k ES. • Bosses are absolutely phenomenal, attack-wise, visual-wise, dialog-wise, all of it. very well telegraphed attacks. HOWEVER, their total maximum health might be too low for the current pinnacle bosses even at maximum difficulty. (but then we'll have to see after the Build-Apocalypse Patch that will probably nerf everything kek) • The Towers on the atlas are NOT great, speaking for myself here but yesterday I found a citadel and it had Corruption, breach and the boss. I wanted to Use a precursor tablet to irradiate it and run it on a zone level 82 for a chance to level 20 uncut. It had 4 towers in range, and ALL FOUR OF THE TOWERS DIDNT IRRADIATE THE CITADEL MAP I WANTED. WHAT?? all tablets were for more than 8 maps and it didn't hit a single one?! Insanity. Please revisit this system, the way it could be fixed a bit is by letting us choose which maps to irradiate or influence after placing the tablet. • The new Skill gem system is good until you try to get level 20, I feel like they are way too rare at the moment and purchasing one is very expensive, not to mention in SSF it could be impossible to drop (especially if you experience the point above about towers) • The new Linking system is quite bad, even in PoE1 it was a better system than this, even if it was in theory harder investment-wise. the problem lies in the drop rates for Greater and Perfect Jeweller orbs being abysmally low. I have been a complete degenerate playing for 100 hours, reached level 92 and I've only seen ONE greater and ONE Perfect jeweller orb, and we use about 10 skills. • I know this is early access so there isn't much content, but currently there's not enough support gems to support the other skills, with the restriction of using only 1 support gem in a skill making it harder. • Charm slots (even after the buffs) are still EXTREMELY rare, I haven't seen yet a belt with more charm slots (or added any mod to a belt) since EVER. • Rarity HAS to go or completely reworked. • Leveling has been painfully slow compared to Poe1 where the progress slows down a lot at around level 94-95, In PoE2 it starts to slow down drastically at around level 85(ish) • Load times NEED to be improved, My PC is not really great and i can barely run this game at stable 60fps (i5-10400, GTX 1660 Super) but I DO have a very good SSD, My PoE2 is installed on a m.2 NVME SSD which is WAY FASTER than a normal 2.5 Sata SSD and i still take too long to load textures, atlas screen and pressing "U" accidentally is truly a pain in the ass. • Auto Targeting has to be an option to be enabled/disabled. The amount of times I've smashed my table because I CANT HIT MY BELL THATS 1 CENTIMETER FROM ME has been too many. • Ascending Trials are Horrible, both of them, Im sorry. I really gave them a lot of chances. I did the 4th floor boss on my first try no problems but still its too TEDIOUS to do. The honour system feels really bad, I once remember getting hit by around 4.000 honour points, having 75% honour resistance AND having 75%+ Evasion rating (AND on top of the 12k ES!!) • Pathfinding feels pretty bad compared to PoE1, As soon as there's Urns in your path you're stuck there and you dont realize why until 5 seconds later. Summary: There's way too many damn urns. • Melee is still SO BAD, Why? I thought you guys said poe2 will fix melee. Monk is literally what melee should be, but stronger! • The Weapon mastery skill points are great but feels a bit clunky to setup and the different colors are difficult to see. • Armour as a defense mechanic is uhh... really bad and non-existent, Everyone is going Evasion/Eenergy shield and CI, EVEN WARRIORS LMAO. Kripparian made a really good video about it. • Citadels on the atlas are quite rare to find honestly. I think i have spent about 5 to 8 hours to find just ONE citadel which i need 3 of these to reach the pinnacle boss fight. I even finished Breach faster than Arbiter of Ash. • WASD is amazing and im scared to go back to PoE 1 when there's a new league with no WASD, lmao. Good job! Those are the most problematic things in the game that i can think about on the top of my head for now. The game as a foundation is VERY WELL DONE, it just needs refining and im honestly surprised how the atlas came out considering you all had about 4 months to make everything about the endgame i believe? very nice. I found your post because it I’m stuck. I’m level 92 and I haven’t done anything in this game except run white maps and kill some map bosses. Good to read your feedback and I agree with them.
My feedback to add is: 1) Confusing to new players. I still have no idea what I am doing and what I should be doing. Since level 65, I have quests that I don’t know how to finish and no pointers on where to go. 2) Can’t switch between Mouse/Keyboard and Controller while in game. Look at Thunder and Liberty for example. At anytime I can swap between to two. Fingers /wrist too tired? Pick up a controller and play in a new position. Playing on a controller and someone wants to do a trade? Use M/Kb. Right now I keep going to the character selection screen over and over again as I use M/KB for inventory/stash management and controller to fight. 3) Last edited by fearcazic#1429 on Jan 6, 2025, 1:14:56 PM
