Level 80 is maximum level due to XP lose.

I'm new to this game so don't have hardcore experience like some.
Xp lose its so big that Its impossible for me to progress pass level 80.
I'm on the map and drops are so bad, I just can't get any gear to upgrade.
since tier map 2 I got zero luck in gear I'm now on quest to do Tier 9 maps but my gear is same as i had when I was on tier 2 I just get one shot by everything.
Drop rate need some fixing and XP lose have to go. Progress is a carrot to a player to keep playing. If i can't level up or upgrade my gear there is not much to do. I will try for few more days If i can't get any progress done than I just keep checking every few months to see if is any better. TBH for me biggest braker is lose of XP I would prefer slower XP but no lose.
You can go for easier maps have less XP but this dose not fix problem I did try that played for 5 hours then I had lag die and lost all XP i did gain in 5 hours.
This game is more Hard Core than BDO.

That should only tell you that somethings not okay with your character or playstyle.
None of that is the games fault tbh.

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling.

Have you examined how you could optimise your character’s build and improve their equipment? Do you find you are gradually learning boss fights and getting better at dying less frequently to other difficult enemies? Death is a failure state; at the risk of stating the obvious, you aren’t supposed to be dying. If you truly are getting one-shot so often, it sounds like your character’s survivability isn’t where it needs to be. How high are each of resistances? How much health & energy shield do you have? How much armour do you have? Have you been reading or watching any guides?

If your build can't survive in tier 9 maps, stop running tier 9 maps.

Drop down a few tiers and juice the content more to get better items until you can upgrade something.

You do realize that even T1 cast on death mechanics can one shot you? Especially if they are obscured behind some foliage? poe always had this problem, regardless how buffed your defences were - you always get killed with random shit that one shots you for some reason. (and reason being, one random unique with buffed modifiers that you literally dont have control over with).

I have all resistance above 70 only chaos at 27 still get one shot as for build yes, I did try broken lightning build and yes I can kill everything easy but this is stupid broken and boring. I would like to play game with any build I like and see all boss mechanics, spamming one ability is not what I consider good game design. If there would be no XP lose players would be able to play build they like and enjoy game. Now you are forced to play one way and only one way, why spending all this time developing biggest skill tree I have ever seen and then you must play one broken build. I don’t mind going slow but going slow playing T1 to T3 and then accidently die and loose like 5 hours of XP its not fun.
If you do not play broken build and want to enjoy game and all the content, you will never reach top level and see all end game content.
I like this game a lot but at the moment its all about exploiting if you want to progress.

So all they yesterday and today I did play easy low tier maps so XP is like super slow, just now finish killing mobs inventory go full I did check if any mobs visible nothing there go to my inventory and BAM so out of screen mob one shot XP which took me over 7 hours to get gone. This is so stupid Is there even A point having all this resistance and shield if mobs can still one shot you. love the game but I hate XP lose I use to thing Black Desert was harsh on death Not anymore this game is even worst as you can't even see what one shot you and take your hours of progress.

How much health, energy shield, armour and evasion do you have?

You should focus on capping your resistences. When you have 70 % fire res, you take 5 % more (multiplicative) damage compared to 75% so even a few percent mean a lot.

PoE wants you to build a well-rounded character and one type of defense is usually not enough. You need to think of different defences as layers that fulfill a specific purpose for your characters survival.
