Trade question

I've never traded in the few hours I have on PoE. I just went to trade and when I accepted the party request and clicked the portal symbol on the other players portrait I got a message saying "you do not have the required quest state to enter"

Any information or help with this would be appreciated so I can get used to trading.

The player you were trying to teleport too, was in an area you did not visit yet. Ask them to come to you or go to their hideout if they unlocked it.
