Socketing Weapons - Not Staff But Can Focus?

Does anyone know why you cannot socket a caster staff or a wand but you can a focus?
I do not understand what the issue is with letting casters socket their main hand. Last bumped on Jan 3, 2025, 1:09:30 PM

Foci are armor, specifically a shield. It otherwise specifies you can only add sockets to martial weapons, so no scepters or wands or staves.
