Rarity Isn't the problem

Drumroll Please.....


It's Breach combined with full screen clear builds combined with rarity.

These builds that can clear 100x or more mobs than you with 1 button are what's ruining the economy NOT RARITY. The average person playing a non-meta build aren't getting game breaking amounts of items with 200% IIR. Rarity is suppose to be a trade-off to making yourself weaker to get more items. The problem is right now you can do game breaking amounts of damage and clear entire screens and still stack rarity.


Have you even tested what 300% IIR looks like on a non-breach map? It's not impressive whatsoever.

GGG: We made PoE2 to be a slower and more tactical experience

Also GGG: Here's Breach and Delirium, by the way. Still timed, so you must have a fast screen-melting build to get the most out of it. Rarity? I'm sure it won't have much impact on it for loot!
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
The simplest band aid fix is to stop rarity from making orbs roll as rarer orbs.

Do what d2 did and just have it affect equipment rarity, i.e. white, magic, rare, unique.

Having stuff tier up has adjust proved to be a massive failure as the community sees it as a required stat like resists.
We also have yet to see any true tests of how powerful rarity really is in a controlled enviorment. This video is the closest thing I've seen yet..

It is truly mind numbing that after all these years D2 still has by far the best itemization in any ARPG ever !!!
All GGG had to do was use that formula and add POE elements to it like Project Diablo 2 and Path of Diablo have already done.

The itemization in POE 2 right now is God awful. Cannot remove or override runes. Crafting sucks. Most uniques are useless. No set items. No runewords.

Cmon guys.....

It would be so bad if more regals, artificer and exalted dropped as it is right now a SSF player can't craft fuck all.

Completely agree with the author. Rarity is what has made this game fun for me, exchanging damage or defense (longer clear times) for more difficult maps with better rewards. Without rarity I would instantly quit.
Here is a reddit post of someone testing 80 white high tier maps with different rarity as you can see it has diminishing returns after about 100%ish rarity.
