Account not linked

I recently purchased Path of Exile 2 through my Steam account. Recently I have tried to engage in trading but I have found out that I created an account ten years ago and I do not know how to link my steam account, that has my PoE 2 toons with this account.

I had this issue back on Dec 7th.
I remember at one point having the option INGAME (if I remember well) to merge the accounts . Just play around with the options and you'll find it.

HOWEVER , it did not create 1 account. It's still both, but 'together' .

I would recommend creating your char on the account that has the purchased coins. you can switch between the accounts easily in the start game menu.

I wrote to support since 3 weeks , and no response yet if it's possible to move those coins to the other account.
