Cannot progress to a new map despite connection being there and connecting map being completed

I cannot start a map that is connected to a map I already completed, forcing me to path around a large body of water. Most likely some sort of visual bug, as I was able to path to other maps from the completed node.

Have you followed along the path with your mouse? Even though I haven't gotten far in endgame, I've seen some map nodes that were totally hidden by terrain drawn on top of them.
