POE2 - Melee / Ranged

Well, 6000+ hours in Poe1 and you know how this goes lol. Kidding!

This is about something else, ranged still dominates so far without a doubt it's stupid easy vs clunky melee but this is melee vs melee.

Staff vs Mace - this ones weird, staff is soooo much stronger and with things like Pillar of the Caged God to level with, chuck in 60 ele dmg, add 50 more and your level 1 guy is doing 350 damage with level 1 rolling thunder, hit 14, Herald of Ice and Ice Strike and you're almost flicker striking round the map vs big old (whatever class you chose) using his clunky, slow, short reaching mace getting pinned/ranged killed in step 1 of his rolling slam haha! There's no speed, leap slam is clunky as heck too, not to forget clunky shield charge.

It would be nice to have a bit more speed of movement/skills for mace, even stacking a Monk with action speed bonuses for the lols it wasn't the fastest and he's not really built for face tanking on the right. The interupts from packs of mobs when trying to execute this attack as well - currently replaying a Warrior with 2H mace for fun, using this, 5 slots on it at level 13 cos I've twinked him with all the gears and he still gets mowed down vs 0 interups with Ice Strike because you dash in...

Just some thoughts going forward as the Staff, multiple skills not just Ice Strike with its smoothness and speed of attack but Tempest Flurry - both are crazy fast, super easy and AFK leveling.

Just a bit of speed and smoothness and less pack interuptions or it'll go like Poe1 where Mace builds are super rare.
