Leveling ranger looking for help with build

Hello everyone,

Title says it all. Currently have a level 29 Ranger in Act 2, haven't gotten my first Ascendency yet...and I'm really struggling to find a build that works. I keep reading about Lightning Arrow + Lightning Rod (using a build on mobalytics), which works fine on mobs but I can't survive against bosses - they rush me, move out of the lightning rod area, and I die. I tried two poison arrow builds on Maxroll, great on mobs, but can't kill bosses - took me five minutes to kill Zalmarath the Colossus and it takes a long time to kill rares as well.

I've tried everything I can think of, and I'm trying to use the best gear possible for my level, but it's the same story every time - killing mobs is fine but anything rare or higher is a chore and I usually die because the boss either rushes me and kills me or moves out of the lightning/poison damage area and then I have to run away.

Does anyone have a Ranger leveling build they can recommend? I see plenty of endgame builds out there but haven't found a leveling build that really works yet. Thank you!

Pin and Cold build ups can be super helpful at keeping bigger beasties in place. Learn to kite in as small a circle as you can. Best of luck!

Still having issues? Post your gear, I'm pretty sure the problem is your life/ resistances etc...

make a custom search, weighted, click on the Sum: ... below the first item's stats. This will give you some gear. You will need some spirit on chest/amulet later and movementspeed if you can fit it in. Early having res at cap will be huge and there are a shit ton of items. If you run out of exalts go to alva and trade some. You can farm + quality % items and socketed items to trade those for exalts, or trade regals for exalts etc... simply check every currency item in your tab. Around 5 exalts will be enough to carry you to cruel
