I really want to love this game—I truly do—but the immersion-breaking performance issues on Xbox make it incredibly challenging. My concerns began the moment I saw the various options, which felt like a clear admission: "We haven’t optimized this for consoles. Just pick the option you can tolerate for now."
As it stands, the game often feels unplayable and, at best, unenjoyable, with frame rates dropping below 20 as you progress further. Accessibility is another major issue: tiny fonts, no player highlighting, poorly designed menus, and a lack of helpful filters all compound the frustration.
This game clearly needed another year of development or, at the very least, a delayed console release. Efforts should focus on fixing bugs and refining the experience on PC before revisiting consoles with proper optimization.
In its current state, it’s really hard to recommend. I’d strongly advise potential buyers to think twice before spending their money unless there’s a clear commitment from the developers to reinvest in polishing the game.

So I'm on PS5, and I've been fortunate enough to not have the performance issues you mention. Some frame rate dips depending on how much is actually going on, but otherwise it's been a smooth experience.
The tiny fonts I will 100% agree with you on - all too often I find myself straining to see on my 50 inch television it's kinda silly lol.
The player highlighting thing can sorta be addressed by enabling the health/mana bars above your characters head so while not exactly the fix you're requesting, it is helpful in dark areas and in co-op where in early game all the characters look the same.
The developers have committed to making the game better in every way possible, we're in EA/beta for that very reason. I hope the experience gets better on Xbox sooner rather than later!

I feel like whether GGG wants it to be or not Trading will be a big part of POE2 especially if you're trying to push endgame or have any sort of optimized build. Right now on console having no loot filter or trade board made me stop playing. I truly hope we get them as while I think on console the game is currently a 5/10 I think it has crazy potential with some QOL changes and optimization.

Comments like this make me scratch my head.
Because by all accounts, this cant be true.
There is no way you dont experience any sort of framerate and performance problems with this game unless you are playing a basic melee build in act 1.
There is no such thing as endgame mapping with mechanics like breach and screenwide hitting spells that dont produce performance issues.

The reason is that guy have probably not trying map, or maybe white T1 and that’s all.
Campaign feels good ! But when it comes to endgame? I’m complete T15 ATM but it’s heartbreaking, it gives me headache…

I am on xbox Series X and completing breaches on tier 15 maps using spark. It's not perfect but it's playable for me.

I have a question for you guys on console. I am experiencing crazy lag. Sometimes I'll run a map it'll be smooth then I load another one and it's a laggy mess where my character skips around the screen freezes for minutes at a time. If I don't pause the game I usually end up dead when the game comes back which is frustrating losing map progress due to lag. When I pause the game and go to options there is a breakdown in the upper right of the screen. When it's bad lag the green bar (network , server) is maxed out. I'm on wifi but have a good router and fast Internet. I've played poe 1 no issues like this. I'm just wondering if others have these issues or is it on my end? Thanks
