Enemy Grenades and On-Death mechanics kill the joy
My character is really, REALLY hard to kill (5k HP, 79% evade, 75% phys reduction, 75 fire res, 79 cold res, 77 lightning res, plus I freeze and have have a decent 36% movement speed). But death happens, and I'm OK with it AS LONG AS IT'S MY FAULT for being clumsy, too bold or lazy in combat.
When I'm totally not OK with, is dying to things I CANNOT SEE OR HEAR in the middle of the fray in a game that clutters the screen with sounds and visual effects. Enemy Grenade abilities (particularly the Vaal Fire ones, which incidentally seem to have a ridiculously high stun modifier) and on death effects are arguably the only times I ever die while mapping. Literally. When you only have 1 portal and you are level 94+, the issue begins to be increasingly frustrating and depending on the mood, it makes me even want to stop playing. I would suggest making these two things dramatically more noticeable VFX+Sound wise. The current situation reminds me of the first implementation of Lightning Mirage and Damage Reflect rares from PoE 1. You died "because". Last bumped on Feb 24, 2025, 12:27:27 AM

Yeah, Im in 3.5k hp with 80 fire res, it not 1 shot me but it have tons of amount of grenades they throw at the same time. The fricking grenade guy have the fire ground grenades which integration with the ground, really hard to see where is the grenades and they throw TONS of the grenade and explode at the same time, you cant even have the time to react since you cant see them clearly with the shty colour.

Yup. Just went on here to see if others have the same gripes.
72% evade with acrobatics. Base capped resists. 4keHP. And I die to these grenades almost exclusively. The only other thing that kills me occasionally is that aoe fire explode curse move that one enemy does. These grenades are so invisible that even when I make a conscious effort to look out for them, I can't spot them with all the clutter on the screen. And you can't just get hit by one of them. They're thrown out in clusters so if you get hit with one, you get hit by three others. The visual clutter in this game is unmanageable. Don't even get me started about lightning runes and rings of doom in the Trial of Chaos. You can't even see them if you're doing the blood sacrifice circle minigame there. The exact same runic patterns and color? Why? |
