Permanent Health Bonuses

I played the original poe for no more than a half hour, but some friends got 2 and I've been enjoying it quite a lot. I picked witch and have been having a lot of fun with a chaos build. Now I'm at endgame and having a hard time even finishing maps. I see a lot of people in town using demon form, so I looked up a build and I've seen multiple comments pointing out how important it is to not use any permanent health bonuses dropped in the campaign. Is there any way to remove these? Leveling another witch to 70 sounds about as appealing as dragging my face against sandpaper. If there isn't a way, is there any chance this will be changed in the future?
