Bug: Unable to engrave gem before entering Clearfell

I have a the level 1 gem that was gifted by one of the Clearfell camp people, but I'm unable to engrave it. That means I can't enter Clearfell. I did have a gem drop during the intro Riverbank area, and use that to engrave Unearth. Unearth's icon is grey in my Gemcutting screen even though it's been engraved (and I'm able to use it).

Never mind, figured it out :)
