Trying to link poe2 to steam

Hi guys, I'm hoping u can help, I'm trying to link my steam account to poe2. However, I went through the process one the website and was able to link two poe1 accounts, not poe2 to my account. When I look at both accounts, they are two old poe1 game accounts I'd created years ago. Can I delete an old account? A little confused. Only reason I'm trying to do this is so I can trade within their website. Thanks for your help.

Under your profile, in "Early Access" section, you should have a "Path of Exile 2 Steam Client Key" section. Use this key to add PoE 2 to steam.

Then write to support, they might be able to link the new account with your current one.
