Why does walley of titans suck so much?

Ok,so I am not the best player of these style games but fairly adequate. I am playing a level 28 ranger and finding that the valley of titans zone just utterly demolished me for several reason. The boulder ants just push me all across the map when they're in the stones before they break, the underground mobs never pop up to hit unless you are close enough and then when you back up they just burrow underground, the skeletons have deal huge damage when they fall on you and seem to have a large area to hit as I've died to them well outside their reach, and if you somehow get stuck on a ledge or in a cranny of some sort, your basically doomed. Top that off with how bad aiming at specific enemies is on controller and this just seems like a zone of death
