decompose xp issue

This may be intended, but if the only damage done to the monster is done by the decompose boots I'm wearing. Then I get some fraction (1/10th or less) of XP from the monster kill. I seem to get full xp if I hit the monster before it dies with any spell. However, is this intended? What's the point of a trigger skill item if I don't get xp from using it?

Same here. I cannot gain any experience from killing mobs via decompose. I can gain from my other abilities. I don't think this is intended.

PS: If you remove 'Spell Echo' support gem, it starts giving experience again.
PS2: I put the spell echo gem again, and the issue doesn't exists anymore.
PS3: Never mind it fixed it once and now removing the gem doesn't fix it anymore.
PS4: Re logging to game fixes it.
PS5: Can confirm that "Monsters gain #% of maximum life as extra maximum energy shield" causes this. Also re logging to the game and going into the same map fixes that sometimes but it's not consistent.

Have the same issue, however removing spell echo doesnt solve it.

I'm having the same issue. Bug Report ID: #126597734

It seems intermittent. Some sessions go fine and I get some levels. In others I notice my xp bar isn't moving much, so I start keeping track of it and I'm not seeing any xp at all.

edit: The map I just came from also had "Monsters gain 31% of maximum life as energy shield".

i came to make a post but found a few already. since i'm having the same trouble with my decompose build i figured i'd just bump this one.

90% sure i had 'monsters gain life as energy shield' modifier. i'll avoid those moving forward.
