Spell Damage Leeched as ES.

Does this work if I'm using a melee skill, but have added fire/cold/lightning? Or does the leech only work on skills that have "SPELL" in the list?

No, it's not related to damage types (physical, fire, cold, lightning, chaos). They aren't tied to attacks or spells. It's normal for attacks to deal elemental or chaos damage, and for spells to deal physical damage.

Yes it works with spell damage, which comes from spells.

It's not clear whether the question is about PoE one or two. In PoE1 a few spells partly or fully deal secondary damage, which is not spell damage. So that leech can't apply, even though the damage comes from a spell. In PoE2 secondary damage was expelled from skills, so all hitting spells deal spell damage. Spells in both games can also deal DoT, which is not spell damage as well. But it doesn't matter here, since leech can only work with hits anyway (DoT doesn't hit).
