PoE2 - Disconnected when changing gear and using some skills

When equipping, unequipping and swapping weapons or toggling Infernalist's "Demon Form", receive the message "an unexpected disconnection occurred" and get booted out to the login screen.

Happens every single time. (Once demon form has been toggled on, it needs to be toggled off again, happens in both instances)

Has only been happening since a few days ago.
