Request for Accessibility Feature: Disable or Customize Ground Effects for Trypophobia
Dear Grinding Gear Games Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an important issue that affects the comfort and enjoyment of some players, including myself, in Path of Exile 2. Specifically, I would like to discuss the visual effects that appear on the ground after killing rare monsters in the game. As someone who suffers from trypophobia, the fear of clusters of small holes or bumps, these ground effects can cause significant discomfort and anxiety. Trypophobia is a common condition, and for many players, the visual effects triggered by rare monster kills, particularly the pulsing tentacles emerging from holes and moving towards the player, can lead to a less enjoyable gaming experience. Additionally, I have purchased various finisher effects from your store with the expectation that they would replace the ground effects that trigger my trypophobia. However, even after applying these finisher effects, the original ground effects, which often feature tentacles pulsing from holes towards the player, remain and continue to cause discomfort. I encountered similar issues in Path of Exile 1, specifically in Malachai's map, where the visual effects made it difficult for me to play. While I could avoid that map previously, it has become impossible to escape these effects now since they appear in all maps whenever rare monsters are killed. To ensure that Path of Exile 2 remains an inclusive and accessible game for all players, I kindly request that you consider implementing an option to disable or customize these ground effects. Providing this option would greatly enhance the overall experience for players with trypophobia and ensure that everyone can enjoy the game without discomfort. I believe that adding this feature would demonstrate your commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, making Path of Exile 2 a more welcoming game for a diverse player base. Thank you for taking the time to consider this request, and I appreciate your attention to this important matter. Sincerely, Conrado Last bumped on Dec 28, 2024, 1:52:45 PM
