I always get one-shot by Slitherspitters, what kind of damage do they deal?

Doing tier 3, 4 Augury maps and I keep getting one-shot by Slitherspitters. I think the damage type is poison, but 50% Chaos Resistance on my character seems to do nothing to keep me alive.

Yeah, some damage types in this game can be unclear.

Like anything teal glowing. Chaos? Fire? Electric?

Also apparently armor is night useless for physical damage save for the weakest of hits.

Poison is Chaos and you gotta dodge roll them or kill them fast if you don't have 75% chaos res.. its one of those three options.

End game (mapping) you really want to have all max res asap.

No it's not.

I have chaos inoculation and sometimes slitherspitters kill me before I even load into augery maps because they surround the entry area and have long range.

Best I can tell is it's a mix of chaos and physical since armor did reduce it a little but its basically impossible to balance main stat (int) with enough strength or dex to have any armor or evasion on good gear

Post you character screen here, this way it's easier to see where you're lacking. ;)

But in general the rule is defense > offense in POE2...Runing T13 now and didn't face 1 mob so far during maps that rly 1-shot me (only died to multiple hits if to many mobs surrounded me).
