PoE 2 servers are undergoing maintenance. Some features will be unavailable.
not possible to see prefix/suffixes anymore?
Searched the whole menu for an Advanced Display option, but there is none. Am I missing something obvious or is it really gone?

If you hold alt, it shows the prefix/suffix and the tier number...
BUT Its ABSURDLY faint, barely visible. | |
" Damn I just logged in to check because I was sure there wasn't anything like it, but you're right, right there on the right hand side. Bizarre change, it was clear at a glance before. Having said that, it doesn't answer the OP's question as it doesn't show whether or not it's a prefix or suffix. It seems if you weren't clued up about what is a prefix or suffix from PoE, it would be very hard to know what to expect from an exalt slam. For example we know from PoE 1 that resistance is a suffix, so take an item that has two resistance rolls and a life roll (which is a prefix from PoE 1). How would a person know that it can still roll a 3rd resistance. Weird. Edit: Below is the answer. Last edited by Karix86#2722 on Dec 25, 2024, 11:38:47 PM

![]() Ok, so going on the previous information if you actually hover over the tiers whilst holding alt, it provides the information of prefix or suffix. What a weird change, extra steps for no reason. |

" I am not sure if I understand correctly. But on the left side you can see if the affix is an implicit, prefix or suffix, without hovering over the tooltip or tier. Prefix and suffix are grouped together. On the right side the tier is displayed. If it is a multi-line affix then the tier will span over multiple lines. This way you can see that 2 or 3 lines are only one affix. Last edited by Avaricta#4758 on Dec 26, 2024, 2:48:18 AM

" GGG always counted tiers from the bottom up internally. Which makes a lot of sense if you consider the technical side of it. They are very unlikely to add new bottom tiers, but they might very well at new tiers to the top in the future. Case in point: PoE 1. At that point, just adding extra tiers is easy without eventually reaching tier level -2 or something. A tier system counting from best to worst only makes sense if you assume either a static system, or it's a placement system where 1 is immutable and new participants enter from the bottom. Granted, for players, it may as well be the former, but the developer has to consider what they might do in 3 years. As for showing tiers: If I press alt, it shows implicit/prefix/suffix on the left and tier on the right, and I only need to hover over them if I want to see the name of it, which, all things considered, isn't actually relevant. Sure, it's horribly faint, especially on my old screen (the new one hasn't been unpacked in weeks), but it's technically there. Zaanus:

" You know, I completely missed that aswell. Thanks for pointing that out. Feels like it needs to be made more obvious, at this point it's like one of those pictures that the more you look at it the more you see. |

Tier system is also weird, before you knew Tier1 is best, now some stats can roll up to tier 13 some up to tier5 like +skills and you have to learn which stat can roll up to which tier, it's really a step backwards for more confusion

There's also no reason not to.
