Why so much Melee Hate?

Half the abilities on Rare mobs have a range of 2-3 meters. Nubbles that slow you, auras that hurt you, effects that happens when you hit them, on death anything.

Switching from Warrior to Monk has improved things, but I still die because "fuck melee."

I heard a lot of talk about Melee improvements in PoE2. Frankly I am not seeing it. Warrior's abilities and talents both make them attack slower, just like in PoE 1.

Casters have higher health pools than Tanks.

I know it's EA and there is totally time to change things. But I can't help but feel despair that they are able to get Melee right. I've never seen any examples of it from them. (for reference I played early beta, came back for Kalandra, and quit at Sanctum).

Haven't played any range character but at least with monk my firt playthrough was average difficulty, without looking any guide or having any poe1 experience so you poropably doing something wrong
