The Atlas Passive tree sucks and is boring and stupid
Problem: It sucks, is boring, and there is nothing there.
Solution: Increased the number of atlas points on the atlas passive tree by about 300. Each map tier and map type grants 1 Atlas Passive point when completed. Example, completing Tier 4 Mire will grant 1 Atlas Passive point, and completing Tier 6 Mire will grants 1 Atlas Passive point, etc. If you complete a Tier 12 Sandspit, and have not completed tier 1-11, it will grant you all of those skill points. Ok, now go have fun and use your atlas passive points and do interesting and specific things with the atlas passive tree. ~ Seph Last bumped on Dec 24, 2024, 6:21:56 PM

I was involved in deciding whether to take strongboxes, which are worthless, or to have essence mobs once every 8 maps.

Yeeah the tree is abysmal right now. And the fact that you need to do the endbosses of league mechanics to start getting points for their mechanic's skill tree is actually just backwards design. Makes no sense. Speccing into leagues in the PoE 1 atlas tree is way better, and you get to block league mechanics you don't enjoy.
Feels like PoE 2 just unlearned all the lessons about player choice and agency from PoE 1 and was like "no you will take this lego set and construct it exactly as the devs tell you to and you will have fun doing it!". It's boring and uninspired. |

Agreed, PoE2 Atlas Tree is a joke. The beautiful choices that you had on PoE 1 on how to set up your Atlas build is totally butchered by a sense of... who knows what they were thinking when they made the Atlas for PoE 2.
And dont get started on the way on how to earn Atlas Points, quests? Really? Why did you discard the concept of PoE 1? It was a very good idea, you just needed to improve on it not rework it! Getting waystones is a hassle, I've spent more than 200k gold buying T1 stones to craft higher tiered ones (I dont have enough currency to buy them) and, if you want to improve your waystone drop chances... you dont have the atlas points to improve the drops! I've had Waystones with over 200% of drop chance, and didnt get a single one in that run, even with Constant Crossroads. |

" + Player agency in this game is a straight up lie. The two creative builds I theory crafted and wanted to play got immediately removed from the game for being 'OP' or 'a bug' (armour break explosion interactions were NOT bugs). |

" Except at the moment we're playing with knockoff legos many of which are warped and won't even fit together...but EA. I am patient for now. |
