Windows update makes POE2 freeze entire PC

As the title says, I have read in some places that a windows update related to CPU core usage has messed with many games that use multithreading, like PoE.

My PC has been freezing in every loading screen since launch and it is super annoying. I don't even want to retry after it happens twice. I hope GGG is investigating this, or at least Windows will issue a fix for this as well

Totally game and immersion breaking

100% same with my computer....

SOLUTION: lower graphics as much as possible and uncheck multithreading whenever you are loading a "new instance" you wont crash anymore. How the heck is GGG silent on this?
It is supposedly an issue with the newest windows 11 update.
I suspect GGG needs to make some changes as well, but we all know there is literally zero support from them.

Nobody wants to turn the graphics all the way down and only use one core on their expensive gaming machines....

When you launch the game, open Task Manager, select "details", find your PoE2.exe, select "affinity", uncheck two cpu cores and hit save.

This will not stop the game from freezing but it WILL prevent the game from locking the entire computer up so you can kill the process.
why is there no reply from GGG on this?

prob because they are not responsible for shoddy MS updates.

This is not factual.

They are not responding to about 95% of their customer base right now...
I've also had this problem since launch and fully expected it to be resolved in this patch - it has not.

As mentioned in a previous post my solution is...

SOLUTION: Menu Options => Graphics and uncheck multithreading whenever you are loading a "new instance" and check it once you're loaded into that instance.

So, this means it's uncheck in hide out / town and once I load into the map / level instance I check it again so I get better graphics performance and can actually play the game.

If I die then pretty much freezes my PC and so I have to reboot as it automatically loads back to town (extra death punishment I guess).

If devs are going to fix it, can they at least put in an option that we can check to that automatically disables multithreading on the load screen.

Thanks

p.s. forgot to say I uncheck multithreading in Options at the Login screen, I seen comments where people cannot even login without freezing. So just check when playing on Map and then uncheck before porting back to town.
