poe 2 attack speed tied to animation speed for maces

I tried stacking as much attack speed as possible from the tree, the attack time for super charged slam goes down as expected however the charge rate stays at default value effectively making attack speed useless. Also tried testing with unique amulet Rondel of Fragility to increase skill speed and it made no difference.

I also tried testing out many other mace skills with high attack speed (2hd and dw) and a majority of mace skills speed seems tied to animation speed break points, and once you reach a certain point of animation speed the skills stop benefiting from general attack speed/skill speed.

I also tested out animation speed/attack speed vs other players. People with 1/2 of my attack speed (basing attack speed on mace strike unlinked) completed animations at the same time for different mace skills as I did. Which lead me to the above conclusion that attack speed is tied to animation speed and has limits for all mace skills except for leap slam.

Further testing with stampede showed that someone with a 1.1 attacks per second vs my 2.3 attacks per second left them finishing the animation with only .2 to .3 seconds after mine.

Overall this makes mace play feel slow and clunky when investing into attack speed/skill speed and limits mace builds to just slow hard hitting attacks since investing heavily into attack speed/animation speed has little impact.

My suggestion for fixing this is to allow attack speed to increase animation speed, which might introduce model animation issues.

When you say except for Leap Slam do you mean that Leap Slam doesn't have a animation limit? I.e. Leap Slam linearly benefits from attack speed/ skill speed with no cap?

I'm currently trying to figure out a leap slam build and can't seem to scale it better than the aoe from mace strike with the cultist warhammer lmao

I want to make leap slam faster, but afraid to put the investment in to find out how much I'd benefit from increased attack speed.

Awesome to find out you already tried it, if you could let me know how quick you got leap slam up to would be greatly appreciated!
I can concur with this statement and request as it is heavily needed. I invested attributes and targeted gear to get my attack speed up by 70% total and I have seen not much difference other than a few frames when I could've invested those stats into another damage modifier.

Please allow attack speed too improve warriors current APM as it is in bad shape right now.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but I was very close to the minimum attack animation speed so the .5 seconds + travel time. Over all attack speed seems not worth investing into with maces and over all maces feel really bad and clunky except for molten burst and armour break.

What I did figure out one day later was, you cant change the min attack times for mace attacks or any skill that has a + attack time or travel time on the skill, the fastest you can get the attack speed is about .25 to .1 seconds + min animation time and that's with ultra investment into attack speed.

YES! This is terrible. Sunder and Stampede has fixed time added. It makes playing Titan so clunky. I have 35% ims plus 3% from amulet, picking fastest maces, high ias, and he still fights so slowly.

We already have 10% movement speed penalty form armor. Please allow us to use stampede and other attack faster.

Only mace strike improves like it should with ias.

Also Stampede has this little delay when warrior crouches. Can you remove it from animation? This is my main movement skill when mapping. It would be much more fun.
