Potential fix for PC Freezing and Restarting problem in Windows 11 24H2

I saw the solution in forums and tried it out, worked flawless for me but solution gets buried in forums and I doubt %1 of the people having the same problem even knows about it.
Crash happens when you are loading up the game or switching zones. Experienced by many.

If you want to video format to potential solution watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGSdbU4zDq4

Solution:

- Download BES – Battle Encoder Shirasé from : https://mion.yosei.fi/BES/

Direct download link : https://mion.yosei.fi/archive/BES/bes_1.7.9.zip

- Open BES before starting the game

- After starting the game click target on the BES and find the Path Of Exile 2 executable.

- Click limit on the right side.

- Go to control settings to set the actual amount for limiting. -5 to -10 should be enough. Going overboard will reduce your game performance.

- Repeat the process every time you open the game.

I also recommend using Process Lasso to unallocate PoE 2 from using all your logical CPUs. This will allow you to the shut the game down without restarting and only needs to be applied one time.

- Download process lasso: https://bitsum.com/download-process-lasso/

- Open process lasso and the game.

- Search in process lasso for path of exile 2 executable. Right click on it and CPU Affinity - Always - Select one of the CPUs.

- Do it one more time and you will see ticks will disappear for those CPUs.

Hopefully this fixes freezing during your gameplay sessions as did mine. My game was freezing 9 out of 10 times when I tried to open it. Now 0 freezes. Even forgetting to activate BES and when a freeze happens and I go to BES and limit CPU, game unfreezes and continues.

I just wanted to add to this (I'm not sure if this will be read as this appears to be the only post, but it'll do my consience well);

I have had this problem, AMD CPU, Nvidia GPU.

@GGG you may wish to ask if the people reporting crashing are using Windows 11 Auto HDR. I was having fairly common freezes and I recall there being some discussion around Nvidia's GTX overlay affecting performance for some titles, mindful of this, I decided to add POE to the exclusion list via;

System > Display > Graphics > Customised settings for applications and in this list add in the exe wherever it is.

Personally i've had no isses since doing this. The only 'bug' i've seen is stalling when playing the game after the host machine has resumed from suspend mode, but this will eventually sort itself out, no reboot required.

Again; add the exe to the AutoHDR exlusion list, in-game HDR can remain enabled.

Obviously I doubt this would do anything if the host machine is not capable of HDR, but it's worth a shot anyway
Well, you should fix it yourself and not have to download some 3rd party programs... it's been doing this to you since the last update so I hope the next update will fix it because I really don't like turning off the game 5 times for one map and I feel like uninstalling it...

you can do same proccess with CTRL + ALT + DEL
Go to advanced tab and limit some cpu cores via task manager.
