Frame Generation Mod is it bannable?

I saw this mod and at least until next month sometime I won't be upgrading my wife's PC. Christmas always kills the pocket book. Anyway her PC is ancient and hasn't been upgraded since she started using Steamdeck.

So I saw this https://www.nexusmods.com/pathofexile2/mods/1 but wonder if it's bannable.

According to the author it's been used in POE1 for years but that doesn't alleviate my worry considering the amount we spent for support packs.

Can anyone from GGG comment or anyone who has used this previous in POE know anything?

I'm kind of perplexed why it just isn't in the game by default if someone can mod it into the game.
