Suggestion for a New Class in Path of Exile 2

Dear Path of Exile Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am a passionate fan of Path of Exile and wanted to share an idea for a new character class that I believe would be a perfect addition to Path of Exile 2.
The concept is inspired by the Prototype game series, specifically Prototype 1 and Prototype 2. It revolves around a Mutant Class capable of transforming its body into various weapons. This class could morph its limbs into deadly blades, tendrils, or other organic weaponry, much like the protagonist in Prototype. Such a character would bring a unique and visceral combat style to the game, blending dynamic melee attacks with a sense of raw, unstoppable power.
The ability to shift forms could add a new layer of versatility to gameplay, allowing players to adapt their fighting style to different situations. For example, a Mutant could switch from using sharp, piercing attacks to heavy, blunt-force strikes or even extend their reach with whip-like appendages. The visual potential for this class is enormous, offering dramatic animations and effects that would resonate with fans of both action games and dark, gritty fantasy.
Would your team be open to exploring the introduction of such a class in Path of Exile 2? I think it could bring a fresh and thrilling experience to players while fitting seamlessly into the dark and twisted world of Wraeclast.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my suggestion. Regardless of the outcome, I’m excited to see what you have in store for Path of Exile 2.
Best regards,
Rene Loidl

While they could add new weapons or new skills "types" down the road, I don't think we're getting other classes than the 12 we're supposed to get.

It's already a lot of classes and Ascendancies (12 classes for 36 ascendancies), and a new class would have to fit in the current attributes selection of pure or hybrid class for a given attribute (for example, pure Dexterity characters being the Ranger and Huntress classes) without one attribute having more classes than the others.

They could bring some kind of corruption harnessing skills or something like that, but it would have to be fundamentaly different from any other weapon types, not just a flavour/look... and I don't think it would have to be tied to particular weapon type as we have many of those already. Maybe as some type of physical/chaos attacks (and/or spells) tied to no weapon in particular people could mix and match in their build.

As far as class goes, we'll maybe get the Scion "new class" (which can start at any point in the tree) if they deem it necessary, but so far, they said the Scion was not coming back probably due to the difficulty of balancing it with 12 other classes and their ascendancies.

12 classes and 36 ascendancies is already big IMO, especially if they bring more skills to each skill family down the road and change it so we can use martial skills with more weapons types than it currently is.

Anyway, for now, they have to work on what they have and make it more fun, less tedious and increase build diversity.
