How do ascendancy trial carries work?

How does one do a carry where one person can AFK until the final boss? I see some for sale like that, but I have no idea how they get to the boss room unless they have to run through every completed floor.

you dont need to do anything, you get called in before the boss room and you stay outside. carry will kill the boss and it done. whole thing takes 2 minutes.

I get that part, I've seen the ads for carries. My friend and I tried it ourselves and could not figure out how to 'call in' the person who is waiting.
