Something that would benefit the future of PoE 2
Been playing PoE for about as long as PoE has existed. There is something that would truly unlock build variety, creativity, and cut item waste by bypassing base item weakness in uniques and good rare rolls on low tier bases. PoE needs the ability to upgrade item bases to higher tiers.
This would allow a ton of gameplay options, variety, and fully unlock play creativity. This would also help reduce good rare roll waste on low tier bases that are high item lvl (example: amazingly well rolled shabby jerkin if playing PoE1). On the unique side, good uniques would see end game or near end game play through longevity in base upgrading. Some uniques would need tweaking to prevent game breaking results, but the overall 1000% benefits the game more than the few exceptions. This could easily be implemented by having an orb that upgrades an item base by 1 step, a service vendor, or even a repearable quest/trial vendor with difficulty scaling based on tier of item base being upgraded. Obviously, keeping the item in it's base category line (Armour, Evasion, Armour/Evasion, Etc. for armours [same idea for weapons]) Requiring multiple to go from low tier to high tier. I feel this should be heavily considered to super boost PoEs overall appeal and build possibility. I say this being a player and fan for well over a decade. So, this idea comes with careful thought and just rings true being someone who knows the game well. Someone well versed in theorycrafting and all the possibilities this can open. Anyhow, thanks for the time and, hopefully, real thought and consideration to this suggestion. PoE would greatly benefit from something like this. Last bumped on Dec 22, 2024, 10:26:39 PM
