Casual Feedback

In an age of early access shenanigans, I am very impressed with the level of polish PoE2 has, and by the pace and quality of patching. I also have complete trust in GGG's competence, especially compared to other PoE-like games in my background.

I've been playing the game solo self found and taught so far. While the campaign had very difficult moments, it's been a good challenge, a way to learn some game basics, and needed practice for my emerging build.

However, the honeymoon phase was brutally over once I started mapping. Somehow I managed the first two tiers, and then I found myself broke, weak and lost.

There is no loot. Resources are scarce. I find no upgrades, nor can I craft any. Everything is random. Trading spoils the fun for me, so I don't do it.

Maps are very expensive, especially if I want to juice them even a little. Inexplicable one-shot deaths happen easily, and not only do I lose experience and resources, I actually don't learn anything from them. This is a waste of my time.

I get the feeling amateurs like me are not welcome at the PoE 2 Academy. I want to be part of the club, but I don't want to copy builds or watch explainers. I hope the game becomes more rewarding and less punishing, so I can extend the journey of my character beyond the first hundred hours or so.
