Question regarding old Xbox and new Steam account

I’ve had an Xbox account for years and recently purchased PoE 2 on Steam, when I log into the site I use my Xbox sign in but notice the currency from Steam is on the account too, but not my PoE 2 Steam character for the profile pic.

Is there a way to link the accounts together, or do I need to use my other account? I like having the original account from 2019.

Any info is appreciated.
