Free Aim For Controller

There is no FREE AIM for the controller input in the game. That is, there is no way to use the right joystick to aim your spell/ability, and have it go in that direction, regardless of it it's at a wall or enemy.


Instead, we get two options: (1) DYNAMIC AIMING (default); (2) FOCUS FIRE
*You can toggle between these two options by binding a key to it on your spell binds screen.


Both of the options are unacceptable for certain classes and playstyles. Among many examples, would be witches trying to use their "Unearth" ability, an aoe spell which needs to be directed over a corpse. Both of these aiming options massively restrict you from precise casting of your spell in important ways: if you could free aim it, one spell cast at the right angle can easily cover 2-4 corpses. Instead, you are targeting the center of the corpse. Secondly, the dynamic aiming prioritized mobs that are alive, even if they are well off screen. The FOCUS FIRE aiming style is also prohibitive when you have to cycle through 5-10+ mobs and /corpses just to finally land on the right corpse you are looking to cast Unearth over.


This is unplayable for me as it is because of this. Debating just leaving until they implement it or re-rolling completely, but thought i would air my grievance nonetheless.

Those suffering from similar frustrations from the lack of free aim in different use cases -- provide your experience and why you need free aim below. I've read many other examples across reddit and these forums, so i know they exist, but let's start consolidating them here so that the devs can appreciate just how badly this is needed.
