Citadel Woes - Recommendation for us non-super-hardcore gamers
GGG I just want to say congratulations on your success. The game is amazing and so is your studio. I've had an absolute blast playing your game.
My only gripe so far is the Citadel/Mapping system. It feels incredibly bad to be at the absolute mercy of RNG on finding the citadels to begin with, but worse still, you get ONE shot at killing the boss inside to progress the quest. If you die, the citadel shuts off and you have to FIND ANOTHER random citadel to even attempt the fight again. Now I don't have thousands of hours to spend in this game, but I was proud to have made it as far as I did and looked forward to beating my face against one of the endgame encounters, only to be smacked in the face and essentially told I have to start over. I don't mind grinding. I don't mind building up to something. But it feels very unfun to not have the opportunity to at least try these encounters again without having to be at the mercy of RNG all over again. Please consider making these Citadel encounters at the very least a 24-hour cooldown if you fail, or some timer. Don't just erase the ability to go back in totally and force the player to navigate RNG again and find another citadel. I don't mind there being repercussions to the fight to reinforce that it's supposed to be hard, and a big deal. But for heaven's sake, this is very unfun and makes me really not want to just not keep looking for random citadels across this infinite map and do something else with my time. I ALREADY put the work in to get to this point and I feel like I'm (we're) being punished for it. Last bumped on Dec 20, 2024, 5:03:30 PM
