Path of Exile 2 - Mercenary Aim Bug on PC
Mercenary Aim on PC, using mouse and keyboard, seems to be heavily, vertically offset.
This might be a symptom of a greater issue and affect multiple classes, as I have noticed that clicking loot on the ground and some menus is very inconsistent as well. Here is a demonstration of the issue: ![]() ![]() OS: Windows 11 24H2 Resolution: 3840x1600 (24:10) This might be an issue related to certain resolutions or aspect ratios. Either way, it shouldn't be this way and doesn't feel good at all. Last bumped on Dec 23, 2024, 2:59:21 AM

After speaking to some folk, it seems to be an issue in the way that the aiming mechanic is coded.
What the current code probably does: There is a ray cast going from the camera, through the mouse pointer, ending up at the ground. This is then vertically offset to the projectile level (chest level). This causes issues because the shots are never going where the mouse pointer is, unless pointed straight up or straight down. What the could should, instead, do: There should be an invisible plane on the same height level as the projectiles (chest level), which cuts off the ray cast at that point. This would mean that your projectiles are always passing through your mouse pointer. There are other ways of solving this, but this needs to get solved. Our projectiles should be going where our mouse pointer is; projectiles should always be passing through the mouse pointer. |

Hanging on to this thread.
I noticed early on that there was a displacement where my mousecursor was and where I was hittng on my witch. ![]() This is consistent on all characters I've tried, the graphic and hitbox is derived from character placement in a straight line, and not where your mouse actual is. Inherently I have learned to offset my mouse to where I am, and where I want to hit - as a consequence of this I am even worse in CS2 than I was :( Plz fix. Seriously tho, this combined with the auto-aim being so sticky as it is, it feels like casting targeted curses is a RNG simulator. I cast a curse and target the boss, but where do I hit? Not even god knows. Up? Down? Behind me? All are equally possible scenarios. |

There is one more annoying thing.
