POE DEV TEAM LOST THE PLOT
Campaign is fun, I really liked it. The Graphics, Musical score and story are great. POE DEV team though has lost the plot for end game and ascendancies. This game is geared towards Masochists with a lot of time to waste on their hands.
I really enjoyed the early game and put up with the torment and difficulty of finding meaningful gear without trading, but maps and the Trials of Sekhemas completely ruined the experience for me. It is so punishing, so not rewarding. I played Dark Souls games and Elden Ring and they are challenging and punishing but lose everything to BS moves and mechanics in POE2 to then have to waste my time/life to farm a freaking Djinn Barya to redo the level is just a complete waste of time and not fun. I don't care for this aspect of the game. I play a game to be challenged and have fun, not to insult me and waste my time, That is what POE2 is right now. I don't want to hear from the schills: GET GOOD!. Bullshit. Get good means to build a META Build copied from someone. That is not true gaming...this game was marketed to being more accessible to newcomers... that is BS! Its even worse than the original other than the helpful tooltips. They may attract new players initially but many will leave after they bump up against these walls. Bottom line...the game needs to learn to respect peoples time. If I spend time on the game I want to see progress not BS mechanics that ask me to waste my time, that is not okay. FromSoftware got it right in the sense if you bump up against a skill wall you are stuck there and can keep challenging the boss then and there not like POE2 where you have to then farm for several hours in a unrelated zone to get a freaking token that allows you to then waste another 1-2 hours to try and face the challenge. This is BS and wrong, you will lose players and no New Player will put up with that, there are so many games out there that offer better rewards they will shift there. POE2 Has a lot of potential but these kind of mechanics are Hurting the game and your REVENUE! wake up and give the community a fair game that rewards their time and efforts and not punish them by making them farm a token that could take hours to drop. This is unrelated to the challenge of the Trials and just causes the player to spend extra hours just to have another shot. a challenge is only a challenge if can lose something when you fuck it up.
it's a fake challenge if it makes you "win less". --- if you permanently reward players for their failures, rewards don't mean anything anymore, you permanently increase the rewards for players not getting the impression that they waste their time. the game buried you in items and those who complain that ggg want them to buy more tabs have a valid argument. and there are only three ways to reward: char progression, items and campaign progression. --- players' entitlement is hard to cut back, just try to see poe as a new game. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! " It's really weird seeing someone write two pages complaining about something I would describe as a positive thing. What is your issue here, exactly? Because it sounds like you're saying it's a bad thing that this game provides hundreds of hours of content, even in the limited early access version. " I am not complaining about the amount of content for an early access, I agree with you I think it is fantastic and will continue to grow. I am very supportive of the GGG on much of what they have done. My issue here with the direction they took with the trials. Having to redo them is a suitable cost of failure at the end boss but to lose the coin on top of that and have to go randomly farm a new one that could take hours to drop is lame and this is not a great way to contribute to hours of content. To me that is a non-fun way to waste time in the game. |
