Feedback on Console Targeting for Detonate Dead with Minions

I wanted to provide feedback on the targeting system for Path of Exile 2 when using a Detonate Dead build with minions on console.

The main issue is with how the game prioritizes targets for detonation. Despite having minions and enemy corpses directly in front of my character, the targeting system often locks onto minions or bodies that are behind me. This is extremely frustrating, especially since I'm clearly facing forward, and my intention is to interact with the minions and bodies in front of me.

This mis-targeting issue slows down gameplay and makes it feel clunky. In fast-paced encounters, this can be the difference between a clean clear and an unnecessary death. It’s especially problematic when dealing with dangerous enemies or bosses where precise targeting is crucial.

Suggested Fixes:

Improve Targeting Priority: Prioritize corpses and minions in the direction the character is facing, rather than selecting targets behind the player.

This change would significantly improve the gameplay experience for console users, especially for builds that rely on minion-based ignition mechanics like Detonate Dead. Thank you for your consideration.

Frustrated here also. DD is nothing new and it worked a lot better in POE1. That being said the “hold and aim” feature in the skills tab would be great if the target icon actually moved when I wanted it to.

Really sucks where you’re trying to kill a group of tightly packed mobs and your DD is refusing to move off a pack a screen away.

Also mouse support isn’t a thing on PS5 (maybe Xbox also?).

+1 on this, just moved to a detonate build and im not able to play the character anymore, constantly detonating bodies of packs i already cleared, the hold + R3 does not allow to select minions, add an option to priority minions/bodies, close or far away so we can have more controll.
Time to star t a new pj untill this is fixed
