Monk "unarmed" build

Hello,
Currently playing a Monk having lots of fun. I'm a super casual player. I was wondering if there will be further development for "unarmed" build. There aren't that many nodes on the passive skill tree, but there are a bunch of skill gems that mention it. Of course the damage is much lower, but would like to see it reach levels of damage comparable to having a weapon equipped.

I've just started with monk, I don't know his later skills, and how unarored works but when I heard about monk I though I could go unarmed with martial arts, open palms, kicks etc. (maybe not as over the top as in Lost Arc but the "ghostly" big fist/ palms look awesome)

As the unarmed doesn't take bonus dmg from weapons I would suggest adding a one handed "weapon" like "beads" or "talismans" or something similar.
- Beads count as unarmed.
- They don't have any base dmg or attack speed, but instead one bonus, specificed to a bead type.
- Their modificators can't have +% physical dmg (as they don't have base damage) but could have a special "+X-Y [type] dmg to unarmed attacks" in the modifcators pool, to allow for that sweet double bonus if someone wants that. Similar with attack speed.
