Targeting and Attack Mechanics for Projectile Skills (Crossbow)

I’d like to provide some feedback regarding the targeting and attack mechanics for projectile skills, specifically when using the Crossbow in Path of Exile 2. I’ve encountered an issue that negatively impacts my gameplay experience. Here’s a breakdown of the problem:

Current Setup:
Right Mouse Button (Move Only): Allows me to move the character without triggering attacks.
Q key (Projectile Skill): Used to shoot bolts from the Crossbow.

The Issue:
When surrounded by enemies, the game’s auto-targeting mechanics often cause my character to attack in the direction of the closest enemy instead of where my mouse cursor is pointing. This leads to situations where my character won’t shoot unless the mouse cursor aligns with the auto-targeted enemy. This makes it difficult to aim and attack where I actually want.

Expected Behavior:
The character should shoot regardless of where the mouse cursor is positioned. However, ideally, the attack should fire in the direction of the mouse cursor, regardless of where the nearest enemy is located. This would allow for more precise targeting and give players better control over their projectile skills.

Suggested Improvements:
Option to Disable Auto-Targeting: Provide players with an option to turn off auto-targeting for more control over their attacks.
Alternative Fix: Adjust the targeting system so that attacks can always fire, even if the cursor is not perfectly aligned with an enemy.

Gameplay Impact:
This issue disrupts combat flow and makes managing large enemy groups frustrating, especially when surrounded. Allowing players to disable auto-targeting or adjusting the mechanics would significantly improve the combat experience.

I hope this feedback helps, and I look forward to hearing thoughts from the community and the development team.
