Bloodmage is boring and bad
This situation is truly disappointing. I’ve been waiting two weeks for the Bloodmage archetype to receive meaningful improvements, but nothing has changed and I’m growing increasingly frustrated. I will voice my profound dissatisfaction with these delays, as the Bloodmage lineage urgently requires a fundamental redesign. Currently, its mechanics force players to pay both life and mana simultaneously, a glaringly inefficient and unbalanced system. It’s such a flawed approach that any inexperienced player encountering this will likely just quit. Facing bosses under these conditions elevates the difficulty to near-Uber levels, making content at least a hundred times more complicated compared to other lineages. Additionally, if you don’t search online for builds that address these shortcomings, the experience becomes even more deplorable than playing Diablo 4.

I'll admit I'm a new player who chose blood mage as my ascendancy and all I can say is that I'm incredibly disappointed. I don't feel like I'm actually a blood mage. I feel like I'm just some mage that wants to be edgy because she uses her own health to... what exactly?
Why do enemies have true blood magic spells and there's nothing for players? Enemies got some kind of blood spikes/missles, pools of blood that damage us and other "blood" stuff. I want those spells for my witch. EDIT: Just saw that enemy summoned blood elemental to help him. Can I have those, too? Last edited by Ashii6#1621 on Dec 18, 2024, 5:21:42 PM

Completely agreed, blood magic in general feels very underwhelming. I get it's still EA but I would love to see some nice changes on it because compared to the infernalist, is like day and night.

Agreed.
There are some blood/phys dot spells (reap, exsanguinate) in PoE1 and I would assume that they bring them to PoE2 as well. What makes the blood mage situation even worse is that you can just use Grim Feast on every char for the blood orb effect just with energy shield. And it only costs 30 spirit so it's effectively free. |
