Mouse Crossbow Needs Help

TLDR: Something is very janky with Mouse Crossbow. Pretty sure it's the max turn rate causing any input between shots to cause huge delays in firing. More noticeable with Rapid because of the wind up... basically makes the skill unusable. Also I know it's late, but why not just make the bolt skills like every other skill in the game: hit the skill, do the skill's attack (or reload if empty). Not hit the skill to make Base Attack load the skill, then Base Attack to do the special bolt. Also also, just make issuing the command for Rapid Fire or similar bolt attacks just empty the clip on the target, like an RTS attack-command?

Alright, I started Ranger, Bow WASD, and its fine. But soon realized I hate WASD for this type of game, especially town movement. Switched to mouse. Why? Maybe just how my brain's initially wired. Like how playing an RPG with mouse and keyboard is totally alien because I grew up on JRPGs. Even more awful if you're melee, because almost every attack doesn't allow for movement during the attack like ranged does, just re-aiming, so Mouse feels much better for that. 2nd character 2H Maul Merc, crushed the campaign, super easy, OP even. Boneshatter with all the area passives and support is crazy for clear, Mace Strike OP for bosses.

Tried a couple casters, Fire and Chaos, both are... eeeh, okay. Fireball with Wildshards is hilarious, please don't change it. Maybe change it with SRS, because the poor skulls can't get a hit in before 50 others are respawned. Contagion spreading Impending Doom is a lovely feeling too. Don't know why Chaos Bolt is a skill? It feels like a wand attack via the animations, so I want to maximize it to make a "wand attack" feeling character... miss wand attacks... anyways. Minions feel like total trash without investment, but since its passive damage, and more importantly a meat shield for extra survivability, I agree. That's how it should be, they do great things, love my skeletons.

Now to the topic: Crossbow, finally tried it, and... what is this? I kinda avoided grenades; I think I'll love grenades, never mind grenades... So, you hit a skill to load the bolts in your base attack, but it just replaces base attack with the new attack. Why? I hit Q, to make Mouse2 into what Q could be. Now if this is so you can tactically reload specific things? I mean, just dedicate a button to reload your most recently used bolt, like there'll inevitably be one to detonate mines. (Unless you're getting rid of mines, and it's all proximity detonation, which I'll very much be a fan of.)

I used mouse with the early bolt skills because most are 1-shot reload, so it wasn't too noticeable. Once I got Rapid, or the lightning shotgun thing, it became very apparent something was delaying shots with attempting to move via Mouse1 then restarting shooting via Mouse2. I switch to WASD, all issues gone, shots are firing when I'd expect them too, Rapid's windup isn't restarting, lightning shotgun isn't hitting huge delays before firing... but like I said, stubborn, hate the feel of it, so I switch back to mouse. Now I'm committing when I shoot Rapid Fire to not changing my move command mid-fire out of fear of attacks grinding to a halt during the quarter second of reissuing move, and reaiming at a boss. Speaking of, move command a distance away, but a monster bumps you? Stand still. You get nudged while walking & shooting, and it's over. The play should feel like an RTS or DotA/League... honestly just make all bolt skills empty the clip on the target.

It's a bit incoherent, sorry. Trying to convey the emotion and feel more than whatever's technically going wrong. I assume it's the max turn rate, and issuing a movement overrides your "facing" when done via mouse controls... which from using Fire caster, Fusillade, I know isn't true for that. Only after running a bit will those lil guys retarget... but please have someone on internal testing who plays crossbow with mouse/keyboard. I highly doubt that's been the case, not shaming controller use, nor WASD, but having one skillset be this hamstrung when the rest feel fine via mouse controls is a very strange and jarring experience.

For me playing moving on mouseclick with crossbow feels as if the movement won't stop until the location I clicked on is reached and can't be overridden by a subsequent mouseclick.
So you're stuck in performing that movement to the initial mouse position meanwhile taking some potentially heavy blows for from bosses and so on.
I don't know why that didn't register in my head, but after you've said it... yeah. Sometimes when you move then attempt to attack, the character just really wants to finish the move action before doing anything... and also the thing I mentioned about move getting stopped... probably the slightest bump stopping a move command triggers the attack command, which made it seem just delayed instead of attempting to finish a full move (attacking once bumped instead of attack once the full move finishes).

EDIT: Or maybe it's not so much the move has to finish before firing, but the max turn rate is super gimped while moving, so the firing just doesn't happen until you stop.
