A few minor suggestions for overall improvement ; game & ui & bugs
First off, love the game so far. So far its incredible and I'm having a great time.
That being said, a UI improvement suggestion; Lets start with the easiest thing to fix; The stupid whisper timer for anti spam. Look I get irritated with spam too, but the lockout timer for chat is absurdly too short. Especially for whispers and party chat??? Not allowed to talk to our friends too quick eh? darn... Allow us to have friendly units mildly highlighted in a color and enemies in a different color. For some of us, differentiating between good and bad mobs is pretty difficult. Game change; Descriptions for some of the gems are worded exceedingly poorly, especially when it comes to what you can attach to what. Better descriptions would be useful. Not longer, but more clear and accurate and perhaps a "can attach to gems with the following properties" type of list, or if that exists, clarify, since what I previously thought was that list turns out is incorrect. Remove 1 shot mechanics that aren't telegraphed. Too volatile for both hardcore as well as DC's for these to exist, and serve no purpose other than to frustrate. Mechanics are great. Having to do them even better. But having ones with no telegraph that just randomly 1 shot you feels terrible. Exalted Orb issue; I've come to the conclusion that even after the buff, if I had 10 times the amount of exalted orbs, i would still only have half the amount i wanted to actually try and make cool gear. I know we're not trying to power creep and i appreciate that wildly (probably far more than most players), but coming from an extremely conservative player who's consistently AGAINST being even the slightest bit overpowered, even I would welcome an exuberant amount more exalted orbs to try things with. If the purpose of their rarity is to gate end game from going nuts, then maybe divide exalted orbs into 2 pieces, so you can have 1 type of orb that adds modifiers up to 4 and 5, and then the traditional exalted orb that adds the 6th modifier. As it stands now, getting rares going in early game is miserable. Im sure once you get a char going and have all ur gear in a more permanent state that you start to accumulate them, but that helps nobody in progressive states and particularly in hardcore and would be an easy fix/division. Aiming issue; Aiming in this game seems off. The character doesn't fully turn to the spot you click before actually firing her abilities most of the time which is frustrating. If this is the "miss mechanic", it should be explained as that. If it's not, the engine isn't working correctly. Unearth; Part of the aiming issue, part not. If you're too close to a corpse, it doesn't register the ability going over the corpse. Hitboxes for this seem bad. Overall speed of combat/speed of game engine; I think some people love it the way it is, but I also think the entire game could justify a speed up to a degree. There was a time where it was one of those "once in a blue moon" scenarios where blizzard actually did something smart with one of their games and they sped the entire engine up by 15%, which caused gameplay to generally feel better. I think this game MIGHT want to consider something like that. It wouldn't change any mechanics timings because it's the whole engine, but it would speed up the feel of the gameplay, which I think could use a bit of a boost for excitement. Vendor gear changes; Clear direction on what causes vendor gear changes, because as some have suggested it's levels, but it's clearly not because I can get it to change without leveling and have DOZENS of times, but I don't know how I'm doing it. Adding new effects to items; Make it maybe quickly highlight the effect it just added with some sort of left to right lit up animation over the text, or even make the text appear on the item for the first time as if it's being actively inscribed by light (would look kinda neat) so we don't have to search for the effect we got xD Additional stat requirement not always accurately reflected on gems; Just brush up on this, some of them don't accurately reflect requirements. Quick explanation issue; A friend had what seemed to be a bug occur, where since their quarterstaff weapon technically didn't do any physical damage, it was unable to proc certain abilities. If this is intended, all good, but should be explained then as physical damage needed to cause the proc and not just striking. Need an option in keybindings to change the map zoom hotkeys. + and - are used by other things for me as a streamer. Having a key be unmappable is a weird decision, especially in todays games.
