"Reusable Ammunition" passive should be a leaf
Hey! I've been playing a crossbow build since the launch. New player, tried PoE1 for a tiny bit years ago and didn't like it. Absolutely loving this one however. The crossbow feels fantastic. Making the weapon basically operate like a rifle, machinegun or shotgun depending on the round type was such a great idea. The sound effects are also satisfying. 10/10 job overall.
I just have one complaint about the crossbow: the "Reusable ammunition" passive is required to get 2 useful reload speed passives and the very nice Full Salvo damage passive, so it's hard to avoid it. Now, this passive sounds like it's a bonus, and technically it is. However, from a pure enjoyment of the game perspective (not just max dps perspective), this passive is IMO a negative, because the highly inconsistent speed at which it makes you fire shots with the "single shot per reload" skills, and the random absence of the reload sound effect on some shots is messing with the "rifle/shotgun experience" of the weapon. I would suggest either: - changing this to some non-gameplay altering bonus (like most crossbow nodes which are just a numbers boost) or - in case there are "Reusable Ammunition enjoyers", or maybe it is important for some build (maybe people are somehow stacking free shot % or something so it needs to continue existing) swapping the places of this passive and the "Full Salvo" passive in the tree, so that this passive becomes a purely optional tree leaf, and the "numbers boost" Full Salvo becomes the "forced" pick, and the reload speed nodes become accessible without Reusable Ammunition. Gameplay-altering passives being tree leaves makes sense in general, I think. This is of course a minor issue, and both the game and the crossbow weapon are great even with this issue. Just pretty please let me consistently reload after every shot and still get those 3 nodes behind this one. Last bumped on Dec 17, 2024, 7:57:45 AM
