Drowned City & Molten Vault - If you don't get waypoints you lose access after campaign completion

Heya,

So I don't know if I was doing something wrong in PoE2 but I got to Act 3 in the 2nd difficulty and I rushed through it to complete the campaign. So what happens is that if you don't get the waypoint for Drowned City and you didn't enter the Molten Vault area, you brick yourself from accessing those areas because of the past/present mechanics. What happens is the portal to the present Ziggurat encampment doesn't work when you complete the campaign which doesn't allow you to go back and get to access the Drowned City

The portal that gives you access between past and present Ziggurat encampments gets closed off. So if you don't get the Drowned City's waypoint before finishing the campaign, you brick yourself from accessing that city which then you can't access the Molten Vault. I had to team up with someone to give me the waypoints for Drowned City and Molten Vault.

I tried other waypoints to backtrack to the present Ziggurat encampment but it doesn't allow you to get access to the present Ziggurat encampment.

I provided an image here with the portal not showing anymore which doesn't give you access to the present Ziggurat encampment.

Because this is broken, you can't access that encampment and are then unable to access the Drowned City.

Please tell me I am doing something wrong here in accessing the present Ziggurat encampment.

I found the solution by accident.
Port to Jiquani's Sanctum.
Then create a portal to town.
You will be able to enter the Drowned City down below and it then connects to the Molten Vault. I completed the Cruel version of this by having run into the same issue you did, but what I posted here should work for you.

Thanks, I tested this out now as well... It does work. Seems like the only solution, perhaps?

I like the past/present mechanic. They should make an option to switch between the two, instead of having it all on the same map.

I'm losing my mind.... I'm in the same position and cannot find a way to get to Jiquani's Sanctum... anyone got any ideas?

Related to this, I had full inventory after partially looting the end of Act 3 boss normal. I went back to past town, went through the portal to the present town and ended up in Act 1 cruel instead. It took a lot of portal hopping into dead ends to eventually get back and pick up my loot. It was very annoying.
