AGAIN, ice skills have been nerfed.

Just a post to remind you all that in the next patch, ice skills will be nerfed again.
Because for the devs of this thing, they live on another planet,dimension and reality where ice skills are still too OP in PoE2.
(Although, nothing can be OP in this game. Power fantasy is non-existent in PoE2)

You realize they're still going to be good right? You have to be an absolute child. If you're not so OP that no other builds matter then you cry and cry. Oh no, my build is on par with other builds that are also strong! I might quit the game!
Balancing crowd control is tricky. Ice has access to freeze which is a very powerful defensive layer. It has to be balanced around this. The change to reduced consecutive freezing shouldn't affect mapping significantly other than making you slightly more vulnerable to rares. It does reduce your bossing CC somewhat but they did the same to electrecute so you can't say it is only an ice nerf. It is a general anti boss CC nerf which is usually warranted to prevent high level abuse which trivializes the game.

Dude, the point of the ice build is precisely the constant crowd control on enemies and bosses.
If that is removed, it becomes just damage against enemies that oneshot you given any opportunity.
And currently the game doesn't have 20 or even 5 builds per class. It's at most 2.
So why this need to nerf something that has already been nerfed?

But by your logic, the right thing to do is to make a mediocre build like all the rest.
Instead of having buffs on these weaker builds.
But oh, that's forbidden for GGG.
The game has to imitate Soulslike in being a mediocre, boring and super slow experience. Never Power Fantasy.
Me and my friend both have ice builds and we both agree the nerfs were deserved and the builds would still be good afterwords.

The nerfs only affect "consecutive" freezes in a row. You should need to invest at least a little in freeze buildup to freeze-lock a boss.
Yeah welcome to the way GGG approaches balance. If its effective they nerf it. Because they spent a lot of time making that boss model and by god you're not allowed to kill it too quickly. That goes against the vision.
This is not a valuable post of feedback that GGG can use.
At least they're properly telegraphing stuff this time so people can stockpile gold for respecs if they are needed (they might not be).

I agree that the tuning cycle right now is hyperagressive, you likely will not run into this issue during a league as they tend not to do in-league nerfs unless something is double-dipping or resulting in player invulnerability (they're completely fine with monsters and their invuln phases but god forbid players get a single iframe)

Im fine with ennemies not being able to be CC agains for a period... but the frozen ailment need to still happen or how are you supposed to freeze/shatter and get damage out of cold build?

Do poison fire combo have to stop exploding gaz cloud because it stop working?NO!

Do armor shatterring stop working?NO!

So ennemlies stop gettign shocked and you lose the 20% extra damages on ennemies after the first electrocution/shock? NO!

Ennemies do get resistant to stun but during the stun animation they get demolished for multiple seconds...

When i shatter a guys if he isnt dead he is back to slapping me full speed.

I specked into some freeze nodes on the skill tree and have zero issues re freezing enemy’s and bosses post nerf.
