Colors of support gems
I get it that skill gems require a specific color, but I don't see the point why support gems, that can be used together with more than one skill color, are colored.
It's already pretty annoying that we can't use the same support gem twice, but being forced to (e. g.) skill dex for supporting projectile spells with the green projectile gem just sucks. I suggest either adding supports that provide similar effects of another color or make support gems that can be used with more than one color white. Last bumped on Jan 23, 2025, 10:33:38 AM

What?
Colors don't have to match, it's just an indicator of a stat requirement. If that's what you are talking about. You are free to use any support with any skill, if their interaction makes sense. |

" Yes, that's what I meant. Why do all the fire damage supports require STR and all the lightning supports DEX? Why does my witch have to be buff just so her minions can deal more fire damage? That makes no effing sense! Imho, supports should be "white" and simply require the stat type of the skill gem they're supporting and not some other random stat. |

" Well, it's part of a game design: fire is associated with strength, lightning - with dexterity, cold - with intelligence. It's part of a puzzle, to gather all needed stats. To be honest, you really only need your main stat, everything else you can get from the passive tree. But I agree that current requirement system is clumsy and forced. |

" Sure, I know how to work around those issues, it's just dumb to divert int nodes to str or dex or waste mods on your equipment for +str/+dex when you're running a build that's already got issues getting enough mana. " Yeah, it's so silly that they got rid of socket colors but kept the support gem colors. |
